Lauryn... Our Drama Queen

Here is Lauryn, got herself all dressed for the day! Notice the dress-up shoes, the pants AND shirt that are both too small, and the adorable, can't miss, Little Kitty sunglasses! So, the daily dilema that I have... do I let her go to preschool like this today??????? Her teacher, Mrs. Dombrowski, told me several weeks ago (after Lauryn showed up at preschool wearing her black dance tutu, white tights and hot pink cowboy boots) how much she loves the fact that we let Lauryn be herself! Much to her dad's dismay, I actually do let her "be herself" most days! I've found it easier that way, and I have much bigger battles to deal with!

Strike a Pose!

And another cute story that I just have to share. Several months ago driving in the car, Lauryn got very tearful as she started to think about Heaven.... she is baffled by "eternity" and just can't comprehend it (neither can most of us!). I remember as a child having this same fear... spending forever in Heaven! It sounded scary to me then, just as it does to Lauryn now. So for several months, usually while driving in the car, Lauryn and I have had some great conversations about Heaven and eternity. Recently, she was in the car with Grandma and Grandpa Englund and below is the email I got from my mom regarding their conversation.

"We had such a sweet conversation in the car on the way to Rice Park.  Of course just as kids do.....they say something totally out of the blue...you may want to share on your blog (maybe). Otherwise, just for a mom's ears who is doing a great job as a mom..............Lauryn says.........There is going to be a new world.  Grandpa/Grandma...really??? Lauryn says.....Yes!  It is going to be a world without tears AND without sin!!!  Grandpa says...who is going to be there?  Lauryn says..Everyone...and then starts listing people!! Grandma says.......Who told you about this new world?  Lauryn says..My mom!!!  Keep teaching the truth momma.....your little girl is listening.........."

Yes, our kids are listening!!!

My FIRST ever blog post

I really can't believe I am doing this..... writing is not something that I am interested in, however, keeping track of my memories is! I want to have a way to share all my daily highlights with my family (or anyone else who might care to hear). My children are ALWAYS giving me amazing memories, every day, and I don't want them to get lost in my sea of chaos (my brain). Already, Andrew is 7 and I know that I have forgotten stories because I didn't write them down. So, that is what I will use this blog for, to record my life that I want to remember forever!!!!! So, here we go!

SO I suppose I should start with a picture, since pictures is how I capture life:) Many of you have probably already heard me brag about my day 1 week ago with Camryn. I decided that since she is almost 2 years old, it is time I pull out the good old potty chair... it needs to become a familiar sight to her since she will be needing it very soon! So, in order to familiarize her with it, I asked her if she would like to try it out! Of course she was excited, took off her pants and promptly sat right down! But then what happened next still makes me laugh... she peed! Seriously, her first time sitting on a potty chair and she pees! Now I know that she just raised my hopes WAY too high; more to come!

My disclaimer on this pic... yes, we just had lunch, and no I didn't wipe her face after eating:) Sorry Cam, you are not always the cleanest child!
But, then I have more. 2 days ago, I decided to let Camryn run around naked. She was jumping on and off the potty chair (which I have to say her butt falls right through because she has NO butt!), and running from her room to the bathroom and back. Then she comes over to me (I was putting laundry away) and says "Mommy! Poop!" So I am so excited, run into the bathroom and find NO poop in the potty chair. So, I look at her and she takes my hand and walks me into her room. Pointing to the floor in her bedroom she says "Poop!" Really Cam, you get my hopes up 1 week ago, and I think I am going to have the best potty-training experience with you, and now you show me this! A nice big log on your white carpet! Great way to bring me down from cloud nine:)
